Brax a big time hockey player looking to keep his spot on the team.

Jaz just wants enough to keep her and her sister afloat.

Jaz is best friends with Brax's sister and has always had a little crush on him ( I mean a good looking hockey player... Who wouldn't.) Brax himself has a little crush on her as well. They finally get their moment talking and dancing at his sister's wedding, leading them to share a swoon- worthy kiss. If they both want this shouldn't a relationship come from this wonderful night? Nope.... Jaz waits by the phone for days, then she send Brax a text, then its been weeks, then months. Ghosted! Jaz washes her hands of Brax and moves on.

Jaz now has a Inn she inherited from her grandmother and no way to pay off the mortgage. She decides to rent out rooms to he new hockey players who are moving to the team she will be their social manger. There now she has two incomes. But who would of thought there would be a con. Brax is both renting out a room and playing on the Hockey team! Gasp!

Brax has his reasons for ghosting Jaz, coming back he is realizing how fully stupid he was. He going to try everything to prove he wants nothing more than to stand by her side.

Jaz still has feeling for Brax, but can she really trust him to stay?

This book checks everything you need in a guilty pleasure rom-com.

Strong Female Lead ✔️ Protective Male Lead✔️ Found Family✔️ Check Check and Check……

I had the privilege of reading this as an ARC and no lie the second I looked at the first page I was goner. Everything didn't need my immediate attention was put on hold jut to finish this book!

Jazz is a caring woman who loves her family and friends. She feels like she needs to take on everyone’s problem without breaking under the weight. Which many of us can relate to. We want to be cable of doing everything, but sometimes we need to lean on people who really care for us. Jaz learns this lesson throughout the story, it takes time, but she gets there in the end.

Brax is hesitant to let others know his problems. He doesn’t want to loose his hockey position, he doesn’t want anyone he loves to be hurt. He wants to be able to protect everyone from anything wrong in his life. He believes if he just works hard enough by himself all will be solved. By wanting to be there for Jaz, Brax starts to see the good in leaning on others.

Brax will stop at nothing to prove he wants Jaz. He remembers their conversations, her likes & dislikes. Doing all that he can to make sure she feels loved and protected. I really liked how he didn't just grovel for forgiveness, the author made him really work for forgiveness.

The author is really good at give characters the tension without all the idiocy usually seen in contemporary romance novels. There is slight heartbreak, but there is also communication to solve these problems.

Brax and Jaz's relationship is slowly built, slightly broken and put back together all by the final chapter. It is hard not to root for them when they do nothing, but care for each other. We don’t only get a lovable couple, but side charters that are funny heartfelt and hopefully on their way to getting their own story! (One can hope!)
